The Land of Open Shutters comprises three villages located in the Narew River valley: Soce, Puchły, and Trześcianka. What do they have in common? They are inhabited primarily by "locals," meaning Orthodox Christians who speak the Podlasie dialect. Their homes are adorned with ornaments that we associate with the "biezhenstvo" (exile) during World War I. It's worth a visit!
