The lance tower on the roof is the symbol of the city of Ochsenfurt. The turret contains a puppet show by the Würzburg master clockmaker Hans Sycher, whose mechanical work also drives a moon clock. The play is shown every hour on the hour. On the top floor, two oxen bump their horns every time the bell rings. Below that, two dials show the hour, moon age and moon phase. A skeleton as a symbol of transience turns the hourglass while two windows open next to him, from which the councilors look. Below, a bearded mayor from Tilman Riemenschneider's workshop moves his mouth to every chime of the bell.
