The Sparkassen Skiarena in Oberwiesenthal offers you the best conditions for a tough training session. The trail network consists of a total of 13 trails that are officially recognized by the World Ski Federation FIS. The trails are of different lengths, from the 1.1-kilometre sprint track to the five-kilometre training circuit. There are different levels of difficulty, but in general the ski arena is aimed more at advanced runners. Both classic and skating tracks are used, so you can train as you please.

Since some of the trails have artificial snow, skiing pleasure is guaranteed from the end of November until spring. Two days a week you can also do your rounds in the evening on the 2.5 kilometer long "Lichtrunde" with floodlights. Although the ski arena is primarily reserved for the training of competitive athletes from the federal base, the routes are open to amateur athletes outside of training times.
