The Rieselfelder Windel are the largest private nature conservation project in the greater Bielefeld area in the former Rieselfeldern of the district of Senne belonging to the district Windelsbleiche, funded by the Rieselfelder Windel Foundation, a non-profit dependent nature conservation foundation in the fiduciary administration of the Ravensberg Nature Foundation based in Bünde. The Rieselfelder has been an official nature reserve since February 2014.
The Rieselfelder Windel are located within the "Feuchtsenne" landscape protection area and are characterized by their diversity of different biotopes: Moist and dry, open and wooded habitats and the low intensity of use are the cause of a large number of species living there, from the bearded tit and kingfisher to the common toad and From small shell eyes to barn owls and little grebes.
Two unpaved circular routes, the information center located in the center of the fields, guided tours, days of action and nature-educational events for children and young people offer visitors the opportunity to experience the Rieselfelder. The Rieselfelder Windel Foundation also works with the Osthus School Museum
