Gothic church, built in the early 14th century, probably after Count Arnold V of Loon gave the patronage of the parish to the abbey of Averbode in 1304. The vault and the upper part of the choir possibly date from after the fire of 1598. In 1896, the original aisles and transept were demolished and replaced by the current enlarged aisles and transept arms.
Situated on a hill, near the village square, now used as a parking area, and intersected by traffic routes.
