The Palatinate Stonemasonry Museum is located in the "Haus Griebel" property, which is said to have been built at the end of the 16th century. The museum shows, among other things, an exhibition on the history of the stonemasonry tradition in Alsenz and what is probably the world's largest collection of sandstone Christmas tree stands.
The exact date of construction and the builder of the "Haus Griebel" on the market square in Alsenz have not yet been clearly determined. Some structural features indicate that it was built in the "late Renaissance". This suggests that it was built between the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century.
Many loans, such as an old vault keystone from the sacristy of the Alsenz fortified church from the 14th/15th century or a baroque coat of arms from the 17th century, are among the museum's rarities.
