The monastery was founded by King Alfonso XI in the 14th century. was built and houses a small inner courtyard in the Mudéjar style behind the high outer walls, which looks quite idyllic. However, it is a bit strange that every visitor has to go through a security area like at an airport!
While photography is still allowed outside, there is an absolute ban on taking photos and filming in the interiors, which are well worth seeing, and this is also very strictly monitored by many security people!!??
