This area has seen its share of wars. It could hardly be otherwise, for a forest that dates back to the 13th century. The War of the Spanish Succession still rears its head here and there. Here you will find remains of the Line that served in 1701.

Line of defense from 1701-1702, set up by the commander of the French troops de Bedmar during the War of the Spanish Succession. The 2.5 km long line consists of a moat, parapet, eight redans and a fortress.
