When looking at the photos, I wonder whether this highlight/tip refers to the information board, specifically station 10 "Atonement Cross and Boundary Stones" or the archeological monuments in Bischofswald in general🤔?! Listing the Brockenblick refuge as an archaeological monument is a little dubious....

10th Station: Atonement Cross and Landmarks

This atonement should come from the 15th century. It is a testimony of medieval atonement and indulgence rituals. The so-called Atonement Crosses are stone corridors that were built to atone for committed murders. The passers-by should be urged to intercede for the slain, who died without the sacrament of the dead. The processed stone cross of Marienborn made of carbon sandstone with rounded ends, whose head is preserved only in the approach, shows on one side in the crossing field a small grooved Latin cross. The memorial broke up in the spring of 2007 due to foreign influence, after which the storage took place in a farm building in the village. After the repair, it was rebuilt in July 2008, probably at its original location. The vernacular reflects three stories: 1. In the 14th century, the knight Wolbrecht of Oebisfelde on Ummendorf is said to have killed a man of the monastery here. 2. In 1417 the robber baron Dietrich von Quitzow was killed at this place. 3. "Women" are said to have killed a supervisor. Next to the stone cross are a milestone and a corridor landmark
