The Jewish cemetery in Schwalenberg is listed and is located on the southern slope of the castle hill. Built in the middle of the 18th century, it is used until 1922 for burials. Like many Jewish cemeteries, it was destroyed during the Nazi era and rebuilt after 1945. The gravestones were 'sorted'.

"The old Jewish cemetery is on the southern slope of the castle hill. There are 55 graves in the cemetery. 47 of them are marked by gravestones, some with Hebrew and German inscriptions. Eighteen mostly smaller stones are arranged in two arches. Twenty-nine other gravestones are in four rows However, many more burials must have taken place here, as some recognizable mounds do not bear tombstones and debris from broken stones lie at the edge of the cemetery According to Jewish community records, since 1761 - at least as old as the cemetery - about 170 people must have died Schwalenberg and the surrounding villages may have been buried here. (*) It can also be doubted whether the stones really indicate the burial place of the people whose names are on them."
