Monte Castello (1,414 meters) is the highest peak of the Alpe di Catenaia, a short mountain range that branches off from the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, west of Monte della Verna, and heads south, up to the plain of Arezzo, marking the watershed between the Casentino (to the west) and the Valtiberina (to the east).
