St. John's Beacon is the name of Liverpool's television tower. It is 133 meters high and was built in 1965. In the early years there was a rotating restaurant near the top of the tower and an observation deck above.

In the first few years of operation, the restaurant stopped rotating when the main bearings of the rotating equipment on the tower jammed. The restaurant and observation deck on the tower were closed after a fire in the shopping center at the base of the tower in 1977 due to damage to the elevator.

In August 2000, the local station Radio City 96.7 (Bauer Media) moved into the tower. Since 2001, the restaurant premises have been converted into studios and the viewing platform into offices and conference rooms. In addition to the antenna systems for the Digital Audio Broadcasting Multiplex for Liverpool, advertising boards are also installed at the top of the tower.
