The church of Santa Lucia belongs to the college complex, re-adaptation of a stately building that in the sixteenth century belonged to the Marquise M. De Marinis and later donated to the people of Favara (1916) so that they could create a monastery.
In 1734 the structure underwent considerable changes and was enlarged; even if not completely complete, the building is already used as a college of Mary at the behest of the bishop Lorenzo Gioeni. It was completed between the years 1820 and 1838.
The church, already dedicated to the Madonna del Rosario during the eighteenth century, and today in Santa Lucia, occupies a large part of the De Marinis palace, now completely altered and rises to the east of Piazza Cavour, the heart of the town.
The church building is of modest size placed at the end of the entire architectural complex now used as a college.
The structure is in load-bearing masonry made with irregular stone blocks that characterize the entire façade.
Inside, on the vault there is a fresco representing the Madonna del Rosario with San Domenico Savio and Santa Caterina da Siena, dating back to the eighteenth century church.
Externally, the neoclassical style façade has a beautiful wooden entrance portal, finely decorated and delimited by a stone frame in marble. Above it stands a central rectangular window.
Finally, three bells placed inside three curved openings close the facade.
