About 30 minutes by car from New Chitose Airport and within 1 hour from Sapporo, Abira Town
On April 19, 2019, "Roadside Station Abira D51 Station" opened.
Inside the facility, there is a direct sales store for local agricultural products, a take-out corner, a special product/bakery corner, and a railroad museum that has supported the history of the town. Abira Town is also rich in specialty products such as cheese and Asahi melon, and is full of diverse charms such as fields of rape blossoms that spread over the hills, lotus flowers that bloom in summer, a snowman post office, steam locomotives, golf courses, and more.
It is also attracting national attention as a breeding ground for seven crowned horses, Deep Impact and Gentildonna.
