On the Afsluitdijk dike near Kornwerderzand, like a foam collar on the dike, stands a striking building: the Afsluitdijk Wadden Center.
The Afsluitdijk Wadden Center is where you can experience the history of Dutch delta design, the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea, the Vismigration River, and the renewed, future-proof Afsluitdijk and the IJsselmeer.
The Afsluitdijk Wadden Center features an interactive experience exhibition. The main theme is the (survival) of the Dutch in the delta over the centuries and with regard to the future of climate change and rising sea levels.
Once you've seen everything in the exhibition, you can also go up to the roof to see the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea in all their glory.
