In the north, the beach is characterized by the well-known wildness that can be found in large stretches of the Danish North Sea coast. It is therefore recommended not to swim here, as the current can be extremely strong. But it is precisely these high waves and strong winds that make the beach perfect for other activities, such as looking for amber on a long beach walk at Horns Rev.

At Denmark's westernmost point you will find a wide white sandy beach and a large parking lot. Blavand Beach is known to be very child-friendly, there is no strong current and you can go far out to swim.
The Blavand lighthouse looks far out to the horizon, where you can see Horns Reef, which stretches about 40 kilometers out into the open North Sea and almost forms a lagoon on Blavand's south coast. In the dunes around the lighthouse there are still bunkers from World War II, which are now all closed and secured.
