Varadero Downtown/City - Cuba 🚶♂️
The historic town of Varadero, located on the western half of the peninsula, extends approximately to 62nd Street.
In addition to the many international visitors, around 8,000 Cubans live in this small town. Many of the city's cultural institutions and festivals have been neglected due to tourism, and thus, Varadero unfortunately no longer has any spectacular sights to offer.
Nevertheless, it's worth strolling along the main street, Avenida 1, in Varadero Downtown/City and gathering some interesting impressions of the small town. Here, you'll find restaurants, cafés, art galleries, bars, nightclubs, and tourist markets selling souvenirs, as well as the typical Cuban architecture of private homes.
One of the city's historic hotspots is the Santa Elvira Catholic Church, located right next to the two parks. This simple church appears unpretentious, with a simple wood and stone structure. The simple church dates back to 1938.
A nightlife institution in Varadero is the famous Beatles Bar, where live music is offered every evening from 10 p.m....🚴♂️
