Despite the low technical difficulties (B/C, 1+), the Oskar Schuster Steig is a serious mountain tour that requires appropriate experience, surefootedness and skill. It is not recommended for beginners, children, families or occasional hikers.

Route description:
From the usually existing entry snowfield on a ramp, initially secured (A/B), then climb up to a gully with easy climbing (1+). Secured with a rope (B) over the gully, then climb on a ledge on the right edge or in the gully (longer 1 and 1+). From the ledge, steeply (B/C) onto a ledge (B), on this to a wall (B/C), at the top slightly to the right (B) to the spread step (B). Over a wall (B) and at the top of the edge (B) into a scree cirque. Go to the other side to the yellow wall. On brackets (B) higher up to the ladder (A), after the ladder you come to a narrow gap (B/C). After the crack, climb up to the ledge via two wall steps (B/C and B). Go left on the ledge and climb higher in the gully (1). The gully becomes wider, climb higher on the right edge of the gully (up to 1+). Oskar Schuster was one of the German climbing pioneers in the Dolomites. In 1895 he marked a daring ascent along the walls of the Plattkofel.

Very nice via ferrata up to the Plattkofel. Good climbing rock, you can always find good steps and grips. However, the beginning and end of the climb are often not secured. In between relatively steep. Therefore, I would only recommend the climb when it is dry and only for climbing. You should bring some climbing experience.
