The park has an interesting history dating back to the early 20th century.
It was built by Pedro Gomes da Silva, a wealthy man and convinced republican, at the beginning of the 20th century.
Pedro Gomes da Silva bequeathed his properties to the municipality of Sintra, including Mont Fleuri, which is located in the current location of the park.
Over the years, the park has witnessed various cultural events, such as the Folklore Festival organized by the Rancho Folklorico da Fajarda.
