This monument to the medieval knight Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, known as El Cid Campeador, includes a statue of the hero made by the Valencian sculptor Francisco Catalá Blanes. It is the first of the many monuments dedicated to the Cid that can be found on the Camino del Cid.
