La Dehesa de la Golondrina is a botanical island in the municipality of Navacerrada, a beautiful Pyrenean oak forest on the slopes of various colonies and the valleys of small river basins where there are springs with watering holes for the herds that usually graze in the Pyrenean oak. Cattle ranching in the Golondrina pastures is traditional, the cowboys have been taking care of the good condition of the forest for centuries, favoring the conservation of the oak grove in exceptional environmental conditions. Ornithology fans can see common buzzard, woodpecker, common cuckoo, crow, magpie and jay among the outstanding birds of the melojar. The views of the peaks of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park are fantastic, at various points there are panels, viewpoints and observatories of points of interest.
