Until the year 1703, a castle stood up here on Schlossberg. In the course of the Spanish Succession War, the plant is attacked by Austrian troops and completely destroyed. Only single stones and a billboard remind of the former castle.
The view ranges with good visibility to the Salzburg Alpine foothills with Watzmann and Dachstein. For several years wine is grown on Schlossberg in Friedburg.
