Memorial stone with bench on the village square of Schloßau
In 2017, the village square of Schloßau was erected to commemorate the local historian Bruno Trunk, founding chairman of the “Verein Ortliche Geschichte Schloßau/Waldauerbach” (VöG)!
Excerpt from the explanation of the ceremony:
"... older than it looks, well used, given by Otto Trunk, cleaned, reworked and refurbished by Ralf Drolshagen, made of Odenwald sandstone. On the side it shows a leaf with roses at the foot and thus establishes the connection between Bruno and nature. Wears a book on top as a sign for the writer Bruno Trunk with the association logo of the VÖG as a sign of our connection to his work and as a lasting souvenir for our founding chairman. He shows a parchment on the front. Papers, documents and books were his life, his intention and his vocation. And in the parchment the Schloßau coat of arms, as a sign of the connection between him and his home village of Schloßau! And finally the text begins with the words of his favorite poem, written by the Odenwald poet Wilhelm Trunk, ...
