The church of Bargischow was originally built around 1300 from boulders in the early Gothic style.
The French linden tree has stood right next to the church for over 500 years. Some claim it was planted as early as 1124. The linden tree has a circumference of 10 meters and is hollow on the inside. The name comes from the legend that Napoleon's soldiers are said to have served beer in this hollow trunk at the beginning of the 19th century.

Nice church in my home village. The French linden tree stands directly in front of the cemetery gate: a tree that you can walk into. We played a lot here as a child. The tower was completely rebuilt in the 1990s.

The single-nave church building in Bargischow is made of fieldstone and brick and was originally built around 1300, destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, and rebuilt at the end of the 17th century. The relatively plain interior of the church (as is the case with most Protestant village churches) is topped off by a simple wooden ceiling.
