The house Heuport, formerly called the Heuport, is opposite the west facade of the cathedral and is one of the largest bourgeois buildings in the medieval bourgeois and business town of Regensburg. The name "Heuport" derives from "Heutor" (Latin: Porta Foeni - Heutor), which led to the former Jewish city. The gate in turn had its name from the Heumarkt, which once took place in front of the house.

Today, the entire building complex essentially shapes the image of the square opposite the Domwestfassade.
