The Žagarė oasis, the longest in the Baltic countries, begins right there in the town of Žagarė, which is about 50 km long. It is a long and narrow ridge of sand and gravel formed by glaciers, which the Žagarė ozo educational trail introduces you to. While walking along the path, you can visit the Žvelgaitis mound, which stands at the very beginning of the oasis, and the cemetery of freethinkers, which is located next to it and has an intriguing name. The panorama of Žvelgaičiai lake, which spreads between the ridges of the ozon, opens from the nearby spider-web-shaped lookout point. While walking along the path around the lake, you can discover a gushing spring, see the remains of a water mill that are about to freeze, climb a small observation tower, but perhaps the most beautiful part of the path is Love Island, to which a pontoon bridge has been built.
After walking along the path in the warm season, you can relax in the recreational area near the Žvelgaičiai lake. There is a modern recreation area here, and there are several beaches.
