One of several débarquement beaches of the June 6 1944 landing of allied liberation forces dotting the Normandy coast. One of the better of the many tourist trap D-Day museums is here. The free outdoors exhibits are the most memorable; detailed visits inside are € 8.

Of the many D-Day museums along the landing beaches, the Utah Beach Museum m.E. the best. In contrast to many other museums in the area, it tries to tell the story of this landing section in detail. It also takes a look at the situation of the German side. What I do not like: The heroization of the landing at this section and the extremely pathetic tone of the film contribution in the auditorium. But probably this is due to the dubious taste of the numerous us-American visitors.
