First of all: The first photo by Daniel Tibbe

doesn't show the scrambling* section over the ridge, but rather the approach over the "glacier" under snow cover. There, and under the conditions depicted, crampons are certainly advisable.

In midsummer, all that remains of the glacier is a scree-covered area.

Here, it's better to walk entirely over the ridge.

And in ideal conditions in late summer, you don't need any equipment. However, you have to be aware that bad weather is possible at this altitude, even in midsummer. You should always know what you're doing.
