The green necklace around the palace of Count Mikhail Vorontsov is a vivid example of an English landscape park - unlike the French one, it imitates nature. Winding alleys and paths, irregular shapes of ponds and lawns, unpredictable change of views - everything creates the illusion of a landscape untouched by man. But in order to create this “bosom of nature” in Alupka, the German gardener Karl Kebach (and then his son) and 12 assistants worked for about 40 years.
