Such a great hike! Continue after Steinn and have an awesome experience. I went there in December with some snow.

Here, the ascent is secured almost continuously with a chain, and two steps have also been installed. This makes the sometimes steep climb quite manageable if you're reasonably sure-footed and accustomed to alpine terrain. Elsewhere, such a path is often unsecured, which makes it more challenging but also prevents just anyone wearing sneakers from pulling themselves up the chain.

The path is challenging but fun and really well maintained. It is often very cloudy and foggy. If the weather conditions are bad, don't go higher up than Steinn.
