The boathouse was officially opened on Tuesday afternoon. District Administrator Thorsten Stolz (SPD) described the boathouse as the "last milestone in modernization". The aim of the project, which costs around 1.2 million euros, is to offer attractive recreational and educational opportunities around the Kinzig reservoir and to create an attractive rest stop with the gastronomic offer.
In addition to classics such as French fries, the kiosk also offers cakes, salads and ice cream. The focus is on dishes from regional producers. In addition, care is taken to offer as wide a range of dishes as possible. Therefore, in addition to the classic sausage, vegan baguettes or lactose-free ice cream are also on offer.

This large beer garden is located directly on the Kinzig Valley Cycle Path, above the Kinzig reservoir. A welcome opportunity for a somewhat longer break. Right next door on the large children's playground, the kids can let off steam to their heart's content.
