Glanbeg Beach is somewhat of an exception from the usually crowded places along the Ring of Kerry. Beach Bar and the (recommended) fish restaurant O'Carroll's Cove as well as the large camping site attract various visitors, but the masses of buses pass by, e.g. to the nearest town Sneem. The largest "population" here are the seagulls, sometimes stoic, sometimes nasty to colleagues, hovering in the steady coastal wind. Besides the possibility of a refreshing swim, the views across the Kenmare River to the Beara Peninsula are a feast for the eyes.
