The Church of Our Lady is the Protestant town church of Witzenhausen and has since been used not only as a place of prayer, but also as a stage for many concerts by numerous ensembles.
From 1232 onwards, the building was first built as a late Romanesque basilica,
later as a Gothic hall church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, i.e. the "dear lady".
The current tower dates back to this first basilica, but has constantly changed its appearance over the centuries.

The mighty Town Church of Our Lady has been the Protestant church of the town of Witzenhausen since the Reformation. It consists primarily of Romanesque and Gothic elements dating back to the 13th century.
Among the impressive features inside is the imposing tomb of the Baronial von Bodenhausen family.
