The second absolute highlight in Litomyšl: the Josef Váchal Museum. During two stays, the self-taught writer, graphic artist and painter painted the walls, furniture, ceilings, carved furniture and sculptures in the house of his publisher Josef Portman, who was so taken with Váchal that he wanted to dedicate a museum to him. Nothing came of it then (because he quarreled with him and because Váchal preferred to continue writing a novel), but fortunately now (in 2020, after it has been completely renovated). - A frenzy of colors, motifs, occult, Christian, pagan and very expressionistic!

There is an artistic video on the top floor (Czech or English; worth seeing even with less language skills).
