On the downhill, this is a great road and not too bad with the dustclouds caused by passing coal trucks. At the southern end of this highlight they turn west, to the coal mine deep in the mountains. Near the northern end of this highlight they turn west to Kok-Bel since the trucks aren't allowed on the upcoming asphalt of Papan (due to heat and their weight breaking the road). The road itself is wide, dusty and has some but not a lot of washboard. When climbing, it the main challenge will be the dustclouds from the trucks, but you might have a tailwind pushing you up the valley!
