A sensational amphitheatre, Coire Mhic Fhearchair is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular corries in the Scottish Highlands and, by extension, one the most spectacular places in Britain. It's most famous for the Triple Buttress, a monumental tiered sandstone cliff formation.
It was also the site of a plane crash in 1951, when a Lancaster TX264 reconnaissance aircraft collided with the Triple Buttress, sadly killing all eight on board. Parts of the wreckage can still be seen today, strewn across the mountain.
