Taking centre stage between Liathach's two mighty Munro summits are the Am Fasarinen Pinnacles, a sensational grade two scramble. In terms of difficulty, they are comparable to Glen Coe's Aonach Eagach ridge, giving you buckets of exposure and a healthy dose of hands on rock scrambling action.
However, unlike the Aonach Eagach, there is a bypass path to the south that avoids many of the difficulties. This is still not an option for those with a fear of heights, as the path clings to Liathach's sheer southern flank.
In winter, the Pinnacles are serious business, an extremely tough yet sensational mountaineering challenge. When coated in snow and ice, only attempt them if you have mountaineering experience and equipment.
