Nehringen, first mentioned in 1387, was a border town in the Middle Ages at a ford through the Trebel that separated Pomerania and Mecklenburg. The manor house with the two cavalier houses in the Swedish country house style was the country seat of the Swedish governor general for Rügen and Western Pomerania in 1780. The manor house is privately owned along with the Fangel Tower and the cavalier houses.
