Sands Beach is just 4 miles (6.4 km) from Applecross, and undoubtedly the best beach in the area.
This remote edge of the Scottish Highlands on the Applecross Peninsula was home to TV presenter Monty Don in 2009, and the site of a major archeological excavation.
There's a 9,500 year old rock shelter, formerly a Mesolithic dwelling between the beach and the car park.
