The current bridge from 1993 is a replica of the predecessor bridge from the early 18th century. National road no. 1 runs over the castle bridge. The original bridge was built in 1735 by the Kintzelé brothers, master builders from Bridel. It remained practically unchanged for over two centuries until it was widened for the first time in 1933. In 1993, the historic bridge was completely demolished and completely rebuilt according to the original plans, but with a wider cross-section. The current width is 8.60 m.

The Schlassbréck is a beautiful historic bridge connecting the upper town with the casemates. It consists of round arches and was built of brick. The view across the entire valley and Neumünster Abbey is breathtaking. The bridge can also be visited inside.
