On December 18, 1994, this shelter was inaugurated. The reconversion of the Banyuls pass bunker, which had often served as a shelter for the long crossing of the Albera, is an old aspiration of Empordà hikers, who with the transformation that the conversion represents will fulfill its role of shelter, of more dignified, comfortable and modern way, to the passer-by who travels through the rough and dry mountains of the Albera. It is located on the border between northern Catalonia and southern Catalonia, in the municipality of Rabós d’Empordà.
