Just a few years ago, local professional fishermen stored their fishing gear in Hemmingodden's rorbu houses and benefited from the unusually short distances to the fish.
Today, the fishermen's houses have been converted into comfortable accommodation for sea anglers - with the same advantages: It is only a few minutes by boat to the underwater mountains and cliffs off Ballstad with cod and coalfish, and the well-known Nappstraumen connects the area with the north coast of the Lofoten chain with its halibut-bearing fish flat zones and reefs. Anyone who experiences the abundance of fish in this region against the breathtaking backdrop of the Lofoten will surely take this piece of earth to their hearts.
