The current church of Saint-Martin de Comblain-au-Pont is the successor to the previous church, which was built on a rocky outcrop on the site of an old fortress. Difficult to access, the inhabitants of Comblain decided during the nineteenth century to build a more accessible place of worship on the village square.
In recent years, the building has been managed by a team of six dynamic fabricators and other volunteers who have a very specific goal:
To make the church a place where everyone is welcome.

The church of Comblain-au-Pont is dedicated to the Roman soldier born in 316. It was built in 1853 using rubble from the church on the hill, except for the tower, which was saved from destruction by Father Bodson. 16 years later, in 1869, the rood screen was enlarged to accommodate an organ made by the organ builder. The church contains many sculptures from the 16th and 17th centuries, a remarkable high altar and valuable liturgical objects.

A stained glass window in the church is dedicated to Father PEETERS (1896-1943), a heroic resistance fighter who was shot by the Germans in 1943.
