Pollheim Castle, Wels
Polheim Castle was first mentioned in documents in 1237 and was probably built by the influential ruler in Wels, Albero von Polheim. The Polheimers were an aristocratic family from Pollham near Grieskirchen, which acquired an important property complex in Wels around 1200. This complex was later broken through by the construction of the city walls.
