The ruins of Volfštejn Castle consist of the remains of a hilltop castle, probably dating from the first half of the 13th century, with an exceptionally well-preserved building structure that was not destroyed by later attacks. In the northwestern part there is a 22 meter high keep with a Romanesque arched entrance portal 8 meters above the ground. In the south-eastern part are the remains of the "Old Castle" building. Parts of the defensive bastion have been preserved between the keep and the castle. The ruins of Volfštejn Castle have been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1958.
