Up to this point was originally the Rhine and the Romans used this place as a port facility. First documented mention in 1138 as "Nettemühle". The mill used for grain processing was rebuilt in 1727 to a "hammer mill" for iron processing, where mainly nails and later from 1808 Stabeisen were made. The heyday of the hammer mill was between 1860 and 1923. At that time, 120 employees produced metal tools, pots and wire pens on 17 hammers. In 1930 it ended with the industrial operation on Gut Nettehammer.

This place is not open to anybody, family is tired of kicking out trespassers, is private property and can only be visited by invitation or calling before hand. Only people allowed in is people who rent a place in the stables or residents. There is a lock on the door but people keep on jumping it, stop going through it!
