James Fort - The James Fort is one of the most fascinating exhibits at the Jamestown Settlement, offering an authentic perspective into the lives on the settlers, ranging from blacksmiths working billets for the visitors, woodworkers, officer’s quarters, and cannons on display, ready to defend the fort.
Each of the actors are friendly, ready to answer questions, and seem to thrive on interaction with the visitors, so I recommend making full use of their knowledge and experience, regardless of how small a question you might have.
Positioned close to the replica village, and the ship museum, it’s easy to imagine the tension and relationships between the settlers and the indigenous people.
