Wikipedia: Swivel bridge in Rybina - railway bridge over the Szkarpawa River, located on the Stegna - Nowy Dwór Gdański line, belonging to the Żuławska Koleje Accessowa network. The bridge was designed and built by the company Stahlwerke Dortmund AG in 1905. In 1945 it was destroyed by the Germans, and in 1948 it was reopened. The main part of the structure is a 43-meter movable span with a fulcrum in a central pillar in the middle of the river, which houses the bearings and the drive mechanism. The bridge is permanently open to shipping, only in the summer season it is turned twice a day to allow narrow-gauge trains to run.

The bridge has been renovated and looks elegant. The surroundings of the bridge, the technical access with steps and a section of the railway tracks were also renovated, as can be seen in my photos taken on July 30, 2024.

From the northern side, there is no access from the abutment to the bridge pillar, because there is navigation on this side. The span of the bridge runs along the river and train traffic has been suspended for a year.
