              The Dragon Lake near Furth im Wald is a wonderful recreation area in the Bavarian Forest. You can make a nice little walk around the lake. A must is the view over the lake for what extra a great work of art was created. In some places, nature reserves were set up around the lake where mainly birds have settled. Corresponding information boards about the species are placed in many places.

                The lake was dammed up in 2009 and has quickly become an idyll for rare bird species taking a break in transit. To walk the Drachensee is a beautiful hike. These 10 km are easy to walk, you can also take a shortcut over a swimming bridge in the middle of the lake. Then there are only about 5 km. On the lake shore is also a small stage where the famous kite engraving is performed. Two refreshments round off a nice and successful day.

                                    The short 5 km circuit is very nice. The extension to 10 km is something for nature and bird lovers. Unfortunately, there are a lot of roads to walk on, including short stretches behind the guard rail. We didn't like that so much. The bird observation station also looks quite run down. The tower is still nice.
