The Lamaria Church was built in the 10th century and is dedicated to St. Mary. Around it is a rock wall and inside there are frescoes that are slowly weathering. In the middle of the church you can see a fresco depicting Jesus. Usually the interior of the church is lit with candles, which gives it a mysterious touch. Every year on August 28th, people from all over Georgia gather to celebrate St. Mary's Day.
